We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Tax Preparer who is committed to excellent client service and accurate tax preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual federal and state income tax returns accurately and efficiently.
• Review client financial documents and identify missing information.
• Apply current federal and state tax laws, deductions, and credits.
• Communicate professionally with clients throughout the tax preparation process.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive financial information.
• Meet established filing deadlines and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with the HFS team while managing assigned responsibilities independently.

Qualifications

• Previous tax preparation experience preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state individual income tax returns.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) before preparing returns for compensation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working with tax preparation software and electronic documents.
• Reliable internet connection and a secure, private workspace when working remotely.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
